Advertising Contract & Copy Requirements

This document governs all bookings. No other conditions will apply unless agreed to in writing and signed by a WORD Sales representative and the advertiser. WORD bears no liability for failure to publish or distribute any issues or copies of the magazine due to strikes, work stoppages, fires, acts of God or any other circumstances that are out of its reasonable control. Advertisers and their agencies are jointly and severally liable for payment of all advertising invoiced. Any advertising materials submitted must meet all provincial and federal laws. Advertisers and the agencies which represent them are not allowed to use the name "WORD Magazine" or the logo without written permission from WORD Magazine. WORD Magazine reserves the right to review advertising materials before accepting any order and may refuse any ad for any edition for any reason. Advertisements must be clearly recognizable as such. WORD Magazine's liability to any advertiser for error for which it may be held legally responsible cannot exceed the cost of the space ordered or occupied by the error. This includes errors in key numbers. WORD Magazine cannot be laible, in any event, for loss of income or profits or consequential damages. Advertising materials submitted to WORD Magazine by an advertiser or its agency are the sole responsibilty of the advertiser or its agency. The advertiser or its agency is legally responsible for obtaining any necessary written releases or permissions if an ad pictures or name a person, living or dead, or contains any material protected by copyright, trademark or other proprietary rights laws. In addition to that, if an ad is found to violate any rights to privacy or publicity or if it infringes any trademark or copyright, found to have been plagiarized, or is defamatory, disparaging, inaccurate or for other reason causes legal claim action to be brought against WORD, its parents, affiliates, officers, directors, or employees, the advertiser and its advertising agency shall indemnify and hold WORD Magazine harmless from all damages or expense, including defense costs. The above applies even if the advertising materials in question has been approved by WORD Magazine prior to publishing them.
